Within the framework of the cultural program for the opening of the Russian Pavilion at the Architecture Biennale in Venice, 32 sightseeing tours for guests and visitors of the event were held.

The program was prepared and organized by RDI.Creative, a business unit of RDI GROUP, created for the dialogue between culture and business.

The program included tours of the main platforms of the Architecture Biennale: Arsenale and Giardini. In the halls of the Arsenale, the tour visitors saw the exposition of the main project prepared by the curator of the Biennale Alejandro Aravena. Here you can see projects most consistent with the Curator’s agenda, aimed at finding new resources for improvement of the quality of life and solutions to global problems such as segregation, migration, and environmental pollution.

In the gardens of Giardini, tours were organized in the national pavilions of Russia, Germany, France, Britain, and other countries – the oldest Biennale participants. The guests of Biennale also visited the Venice Artists' Village, the exhibition at the Palazzo Grassi, the classics of the 20th century art, the winner of the Golden Lion award in the field of painting Sigmar Polke, a guided tour to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, as well as a tour of the Academy Gallery.

During the opening ceremony, an architectural historian, Candidate of Arts Studies Anna Bronovitskaya, Moscow expert and Italian culture expert, professor of the University of Verona, Sergey Nikitin, VDNH historian, and the author of a guide to VDNH Pavel Nefedov, performed the function of tour guides. RDI.Creative invited Dmitry Gutov, a modern Russian painter and art theorist, a multiple participant of the Venice Biennale, to guide a number of excursions specifically for the visitors of the Russian pavilion.

Viktoria Kondrashova, General Director of RDI.Creative:

It is not the first year when we support Russian projects at the Arts and Architecture Biennale in Venice, and our every event attracts both professionals and new guests into the cultural dialogue. RDI.Creative is proud of the opportunity to create multi-level projects, which intersect the traditional and the modern, the familiar and the unknown.

Kristina Krasnyanskaya, art critic, collector, owner and artistic director of the Heritage International Art Gallery:

“A Walk with Dmitry Gutov along Venice made a great impression on me and my companions. He is not only an amazing painter, but also a wonderful art connoisseur. We all were very impressed with our walk, and thanks to Dmitry Gutov, Venice is still with us”.
